Grilled pork patties with lettuce, noodles, peanuts, and mint, Hanoi style

This recipe is from my sister Nancy in Jordan Utah! She makes the best stuff!!

We made this once and it was really good, especially the pork patties! The thing I was not able to find were the noodles she served with it....I will have to find out what kind they were!


Grilled pork patties with lettuce, noodles, peanuts, and mint, Hanoi style

Ingredients for pork patties

1lb. Ground pork

2 Tbsp. Fish sauce

2 Tbsp. Brown sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. pepper

¼ cup chopped green onion

Mix above ingredients together and let sit for a while to marinate (however long you want).

Shape into small patties and cook on grill till done.

Accompaniments (You can prepare as much or as little of these as you want)

Thin rice noodles, prepare as directed on package

Double recipe Every day dipping sauce

Pickled carrots

Shredded lettuce

Mint leaves

Cilantro leaves

Chopped roasted and salted peanuts

Everyday dipping sauce

1 Tbsp. chopped garlic

2 Tbsp. sugar

½ tsp. chili-garlic sauce

3 Tbsp. fish sauce

3 Tbsp. Water

2 Tbsp. lime juice

Mix ingredients together until all the sugar is dissolved

Pickled Carrots

11/2 cups water

¾ cup white vinegar

¾ cup sugar

1 tsp salt

3 cups shredded carrots

Combine all ingredients except carrots in a small saucepan. Over medium heat cook for 3 to 4 minutes until sugar and salt are dissolved. Let cool, then put carrots into the brine and let sit at least 30 minutes. Refigerate.
